AND HE CAME AWAY FROM By Rita de Cássia Amorim Andrade By far came him In August so sorrow Brought him a heart In the mouth drawn Came towards me The heart gave me And healed my sorrow. By far came him Glowing nocturnal eyes As a starry night Imprisoned me in his chest As a saint in his temple Filled me immortal light Made me a woman-goddess. By far came him Bringing me back The world of reborn A reality inherent To his life context Without denying me hope An unrealistic hope. By far came him With the smells of sandalwood And so the secrets hidden In filial trust Made me foreign mother Sensitive to his touch And was a godson. **
