BIOGRAPHY

Célia Sardinha was born in the neighborhood of Vila Matilde, in the city of São Paulo/SP (Brazil), in the cold winter dawn in 1963. Since her childhood, when she hardly knew how to pronounce the word teacher, Celinha expressed a desire to follow this profession. Her dream came true at the age of seventeen, when she concluded her teaching course. Today, a master in Education, postgraduate in Educational Rights, a graduate in History and Pedagogy, Célia is proud of the thirty-five years dedicated to public education in the municipality of São José dos Campos/SP. The daily coexistence with hundreds of small children made the Early Childhood Teacher enrich herself with experiences, becoming a storyteller and a writer. Célia writes mainly for the children's audience, such as Chupeta Xereta, a story published in 2011. The author proposes to translate and interpret children's thoughts, as children's spokesperson in the stories she writes. For this reason, his literary creation is often part of the child's reality, without ever leaving aside the beauty of fantasy and the power of the imaginary. In addition for being a writer, Célia holds lectures and workshops on the art of storytelling, being recognized for her professionalism in the area. She presents her own stories aimed to sensibilize educators and parents of students in events and pedagogical meetings. Currently retired, Célia continues her life seeking new dreams. She intends to develop a social project of inclusion and access to literature, bringing enchantment to children from kindergarten to rural schools and rural communities. So lately, Célia Sardinha invests the most part of her time building this ideal. The design nested in her heart justifies the brilliance in the eyes of the writer.
