Fatima is mother of three children. She was born in Alto Santo, a city of the backwoods of Ceará State in Brazil, during the drought of 1958, and left the city while she was still a baby. She spent her childhood in Antonio Diogo, a district of Redenção, another town of Ceará State, Brazil. Many of her stories were inspired in characters met in these locations. When she was in her teens, she moved out to Fortaleza, the capital of the state, a city that she adopted as her own and where she loves to live in. She was always a student of public schools and graduated in Psychology by the Federal University of Ceará, in 1980. Fatima has a post-graduation degree in Special Education and also in Gestalt-therapy, Biodanza and Art-therapy, besides several other courses in the psychology and education areas. She likes working with people, whether with individual care, or in groups, developing such work in the clinic and organizations. She is a professor for Post-graduation courses at the State University of Ceará and the University of Vale do Acaraú, besides teaching psycho-therapy courses. She has always enjoyed reading and writing, especially, poetry and chronicles. She feels like a literature lover and enjoys playing with the language, blending fiction and reality. Just now, at mature age, she has started to think of the possibility of publishing her writings. She furthers, since 2003, a group of art-therapy, with women over 40 years. Through painting, collage, drawing, modeling and writing, the feminine universe issues, a very present theme in her writings, are reflected and elaborated.
