She was born in the State of Sergipe where she did her primary and secondary schooling and started her involvement in literature, publishing poetry, chronicles and articles for newspapers. She had her first poetry book published when she was eighteen years old by a cultural foundation and participated in the creation of the poetry club of her state.
She started her studies in Philosophy at Belo Horizonte and concluded in Salvador (state of Bahia) where she also is graduated in Psychology. Teaching and research were to become her main area of creation. She started her Masters of Psychology at USP (São Paulo), and she received her Doctorate at the University of Lyon (France) in January 1970 with a thesis about reading and writing. She did post doctoral training at the University of Paris in Etology (1985).
She has successively served at the federal universities of Sergipe and Bahia, exerted administrative functions, coordinated studies and training, oriented and examined a set of thesis and dissertations in education and psychology and took part in movements and associations in this areas. She worked for national agencies, such as Federal Counsel of Education, CNPq, CAPES, INEP and SBPC, for whom she was Regional Secretary and Counselor. As a guest lecturer, she taught at the University of Nice (France). She published cientifical papers in books and especialized magazines.
With her first novel JANE BRASIL (1986), she began her carrier of novelist.She was inducted into the Academy of Writers in the state of Sergipe in 1992. She lived in Maceió, Alagoas during some years and now she retourned to Aracaju.
